class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-0\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Postpartum psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, serious affective disorder and\/or other psychoses<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-1\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Severe depressive illness<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-2\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Severe anxiety-based disorders e.g. OCD and panic disorder<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-3\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Severe and\/or complex mental illnesses including obsessive compulsive disorder<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-4\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">An eating disorder, such as anorexia or bulimia<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"gm62fb09b\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-m3 section-gm62fb09b gutentor-module gutentor-container-cover has-color-bg has-custom-bg\"><div class=\"grid-container\">\n<div id=\"section-g8f1821\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e7 section-g8f1821 gutentor-element gutentor-element-list\"><ul class=\"grid-row class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Pre-existing serious mental illness in pregnancy &#8211; Specialised perinatal community mental health teams will either advise on management and treatment to community mental health teams or take over the care of the woman temporarily or co-work with the psychiatric team, according to individual need and choice<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-1\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Women who have had the above illnesses have a high risk of becoming unwell following birth. These women can be referred to a perinatal mental health service, if available, or to a community mental health team<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-2\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Before conception or during early pregnancy, women who are well but at high risk of developing a serious postpartum illness, including a history of serious mental illness e.g. schizoaffective disorder, bipolar affective disorder or severe depressive illness (postnatally or at other times)<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-3\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Women with a family history of serious mental illness<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-4\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Mothers under the age of 18 if significant perinatal mental illness dominates their presentation and they are likely to be the baby\u2019s principal carer. In these circumstances the assessment, treatment and management of a young mother should be undertaken in collaboration with CAMHS and social services<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li class=\"gutentor-list-item grid-lg-12 grid-md-12 grid-12\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-item gutentor-single-item-5\"><span class=\"gutentor-list-item-wrap g-s-list-wrap\"><span class=\"gutentor-single-list-item-icon\"><i class=\"list-item-icon fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"gutentor-list-item\"><p class=\"gutentor-single-item-title\">Mothers with significant mental health problems and mild learning disability who are likely to be the baby\u2019s principal carer<\/p><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"gm9da3df1\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-m3 section-gm9da3df1 gutentor-module gutentor-container-cover has-color-bg has-custom-bg\"><div class=\"grid-container\">\n<div id=\"section-g291ee5\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e1 section-g291ee5 gutentor-element gutentor-element-advanced-text\"><div class=\"gutentor-text-wrap\"><p class=\"gutentor-text\">Women who have had the above illnesses have a high risk of becoming unwell following birth.
