ADAPT

This project went live in January 2017 and ended on 30 of June 2022. The Health and Europe Centre not only be contributed its expertise in the key areas of dissemination and communication but also be supported some of the other UK partners with their project administration and management.

ADAPT has been awarded 5 944 288.67 euros of European Regional Development Funding.

Background to ADAPT

This project – Assistive Devices for empowering disAbled People through robotic Technologies – was part of the Interreg VA France (Channel) England Programme.

It had three main aims:

• To develop technological innovations for the welfare, quality of life, well-being, home care and independent living of people with severe disabilities

• To train healthcare professionals in the use of Assistive Technology solutions

• To map the stakeholders and set up events to promote the results of the project and ensure the sustainability of the technology developed

The results:

I) 2 AT: EPW driving simulator + smart EPW. Strategy based on a global innovation framework from TRL 4 to 8 including standardization, developments with short
time to market deliveries and researches.

II) Training programmes developed, delivered and evaluated for healthcare prof. in the field of AT.

III) 4 formalized agreements between labs and companies built through 20 events ranging from local to international meetings aiming at creating synergies and boosting R&D in the field of AT.
