  • How to look after your mental wellbeing

Matrescence: The Process of Motherhood

Who is this course aimed towards: New/expectant mothers who want to develop preparedness for parenthood.

Aims and Objectives

  • To raise awareness of the transition into motherhood.

  • To identify self-help techniques for addressing stress and negative thinking

Length of session: 90 minutes


Title of course:
Looking after your mental health as a parent

Who is this course aimed towards: New/ expectant parents looking to equip themselves with skills for managing their own mental health. This course consists of 5 sessions that aim to develop preparedness for parenthood.

Aims and Objectives

  • Session 1 – Improved understanding of perinatal mental health and mental health problems.

  • Session 2 – Understanding and managing our emotions

  • Session 3 – Recognising unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Session 4 – Understanding mindfulness

  • Session 5 – Looking after our mental health beyond this course
